The arrival

Gate B37
Full of Ghanaians from London, speaking twi, waiting to board the plane to Ghana. Home is calling me.
Arrival:

Everything went through perfectly. My plane seat buddies were a mom and her daughter, we talked a lot about their vacation in London. Once I arrived in Ghana, there were countless people waiting outside for family members, everyone looking at me. Then I was spotted, my grandfather, my uncle, and his kids were there waiting for me with so much happiness as I dragged three huge luggages, my handbag, towards them.

Due my internship with Accra Theatre Workshop was slow to start, I was really excited about the project once we started

Before Arriving

When you haven’t been home for more than a decade, the natural instinct is to fantasize all the glories of home coming, the fillings of what feels like a half-empty heart, and the warm welcomes from familiar faces are all you look forward to. Though this was all I expected, I received this and more as I interned in Ghana and Uganda in the summer of 2015.
